Noah Stapleton, 98, of Flat Gap, died Sunday, Oct. 6, at Highland
Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
Born Aug. 28, 1904, in Johnson County, a son of the late Sandy and
Hattie Brown Stapleton, he was retired from Millers Pipeline Company.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Adams Stapleton of Flat Gap; two
sons, James Earl Stapleton and William David Stapleton, both of Flat
Gap; four daughters, Betty Thompson of Sitka, Hattie Mae Auxier of
Paintsville, and Mary Perciful and Judy O’Bryan, both of Flat Gap; a
brother, Rex Stapleton of Flat Gap; a sister, Pearl Hines of
Monticello, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and several great- and great-
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 10, at Jones-Preston Funeral
Home Chapel, Paintsville, with Rev. Jerry Scott officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction
of Jones- Preston Funeral Home.
