RAY BOB STAPLETON
1907-1987
Ray Bob Stapleton, 78, died Saturday, April 25 in his Volga home. Mr.
Stapleton was born June 9, 1907 in Johnson County, the son of Sandy and
Hattie Brown Stapleton.
He was a resident of Volga and a retired pipe fitter.
He was preceded in death July 20, 1971 by his first wife, Lyda Wallen
Stapleton.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen McKenzie Stapleton; two stepsons, Wendell
McKenzie of Volga and Eddie Lee McKenzie of Louisville; four daughters,
Ellen Jean Stidham, of Hyden, Reda Stapleton of Volga, Shirlene Rowland of
Fairborn, OH, and Gladys Cornett of Warsaw, IN. Also, three brothers, Noah,
Mitchell and Rex Stapleton, all of Volga; a sister, Pearlie Hines, of
Monticello, MN; nine step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.
Rev. Bruce Daniels officiated at services Tuesday, April 28, in Paintsville
Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
