SAVANNAH M. STAPLETON
1923-1998
Savannah M. Stapleton, 74, of Chalmette, Louisiana, died Sunday, May
24, 1998 at Columbia Lakeland Hospital in Chalmette.
She was born August 16, 1923, the daughter of Luckey Smith and
Virginia St.Julian.
She was the director of food at Ohio State Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Surviving are one son, Rev. David Donovan of Chalmette; one daughter,
Virginia Kenny of Finksburg Maryland; three brothers, Ray Smith of
Lake Okeechobee, Fla.; Arthur Smith of Dayton, Ohio, and Bill Smith
of Spartanburg, South Carolina; three sisters, Juanita Craft and Ruth
Hersberger, both of Kissimmee; Fla., and Sandra Messer of Dothan,
Alabama; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were May 30, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Terry Reffett officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsiville, with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
