Brookie Sublett, 78, of Paintsville, died Friday, August 31, at this home
following an extended illness.
 
The son of the late Allen Thomas and Rhumeia VanHoose Sublett, he was born
February 28, 1895 and was a retired carpenter and a member of the Freewill
Baptist Church.
 
He is survived by his wife, Missouri Jane Rice Sublett, two daughters,
Gladys Collett and Ruth Lemaster, both of Paintsville, a son Elza Thomas
Sublett of Stambaugh, three sisters, Mrs. Mae Ward, Mrs. Lynchie Williams
and Mrs. Slola Daniels, all of Paintsville, two brothers, Frank Sublett of
Star City, Arkansas, and Monroe Sublett of Akron, OH, seven grandchildren
and two great grandchildren. Services were held in the Southside Freewill
Baptist Church on Sunday, September 2, with Revs. Richard Williams and Earl
Gillispie officiating.
 
Burial was in the family cemetery at Paintsville.
 
Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones- Preston Funeral Home.
