SMITH ADAMS

Smith Adams, 70, died November 26 in Paul B. Hall Medical Center.

Mr. Adams was born May 15, 1914, in Msgoffin County, the son of
Wes and Birtie Powers Adams.

He was a resident of West Van Lear, a retired miner and a member
of the United Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice Cantrell Adams; five sons,
Billy Ray , Mance Western and Cecil J. Adams, all of West Van
Lear, Smith Adams, Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio, and Charles Eugene
Adams, Sitka; two daughters , Bertie Mae Blair and Molly Fay
Worden of West Van Lear; 14 granchildren and one Great-Granchild .

Funeral services were held November, 29 in Concord United Baptist
Church with Elders Charles Price, Jon R. Pelphrey, B. C. Ferguson
and Melvin Wright officiating.

Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville
with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
