William "Bill" Belcher, 86, of West Van Lear, died Tuesday, March 23, at
Highlands Regional in Prestonsburg.
Born Jan. 21, 1924, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late James and
Ollie Mae Hyden Belcher. He was a World War II veteran and a janitor at
Porter Elementary School.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Belcher, in 1994.
Survivors include two daughters, Billie Fannin of West Van Lear and Judy
Turner of Van Lear; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, March 26, at Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel,
with Larry Joe Bayes officiating.
Burial was in Cumbo Cemetery, West Van Lear, under direction of Phelps & Son
Funeral Home, Paintsville.
