Dora Whitaker Blair, 84, died Sunday, November 9, in Paintsville
Hospital after an extended illness.

Mrs. Blair was born June 25, 1896 in Floyd County, the daughter of
James and Rebecca Puckett Whitaker. She was a resident of West Van
Lear and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Her husband, William Rex Blair, preceded her in death in 1978.

Surviving are four sons, Marvin Blair of Warsaw, IN, William Blair,
Jr., of Paintsville, Morris Blair of Middleton, OH, and Elroy Blair,
West Van Lear; three daughters, Martha Shell, West Van Lear, Mary
VanHoose of McGuffey, OH, and Margie Robinette, Van Lear; a sister,
Marie Blair, Leander; 28 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and
two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 12, in Southside
Freewill Baptist Church with Revs. Eddie Young, Scott Castle, and
Ellis Hamilton officiating.

Burial was in Blair Cemetery, West Van Lear, with Jones- Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
