LISS BLAIR, 63 CITY PATROLMAN MAGISTRATE DIES
Services December 28, 1954 For prominent man

Liss Blair, 63 well known resident of Denver, died Saturday
afternoon, December 25 1954 in a local hospital following an illness
of a few days.

The son of the late Harrison and Lydia Hitchcock Blair, he was born
January 15, 1891. He was a member of the United Baptist Church. A
member of the Paintsville Police force for a number of years he was
recently reappointed to this post. He was also elected as magistrate
of District in the 1953 election. He also worked diligently to
improve his county and community.

Surviving are his wife, Lucy Baldwin Blair, four sons, Berlin and
James H. Blair, both of Denver, Dennis Blair, city, Kenneth Blair,
Columbus, OH. three daughters, Mrs. Arlene Ward and Iva Joy Blair,
both of Denver and Mrs. Fanny Jewell May, Asa.

Other survivors include four brothers Crossford Blair, Oil Springs,
Drice Blair, Volga, Bruce Blair, Bull Creek, Tom Blair, city; three
sisters, Mrs. Verie Van Hoose and Mrs. Terie Nelson, all of this
city.

Funeral services were held December 28, at the Beechwall Church with
Prater Blair, Millard Bryant and Freeman Blair as officiating
ministers.

Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the
Paintsville Funeral Home.
