CARL BLANTON 1930-2007 JOHNSON COUNTY Carl Blanton, 77, of Oil Springs, died Monday, Nov.5 2007at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, Paintsville. Born Oct. 25, 1930, he was a son of the late George B. and Rushia Jackson Blanton. He was a coal miner. Survivors include two sons, Carl Roger Blanton of Tutor Key and Jeffery Blanton of Oil Springs; a daughter, Dinah Cheryl Crum of Oil Springs; five brothers, Chalmer Blanton of Campton, Donald Blanton and Kernie Blanton, both of Carey, Ohio, and Dorsey Blanton and Ronald Blanton, both of Oil Springs; two sisters, Boots Burke of Columbus, Ohio, and Juanita Rhinehart of Crane, Mich.; six grandchildren; and two great-granchildren. Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 7, at New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church, Riceville, with Revs. Melvin Blanton and Joe Scott officiating. Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under direction of Paintsville Funeral Home, Paintsville. Big Sandy News Nov 2007
