Retired salesman, Robert Blanton, 66, died Friday, August 5, at his Van Lear
residence.

Mr. Blanton was born October 2, 1927, in Paintsville, the son of the late
Grover and Addie Blanton Blanton. He was retired from Kelly Chevrolet,
member of the First Baptist church, Paintsville Masonic Lodge 381 F& AM and
El Hasa Shrine Temple and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean
War.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Pelphrey Blanton; two brothers, Tommy Blanton
of Toledo, OH and Johnny Blanton of Staffordsville; and one sister, Ruth
Blanton of Columbus, OH. Funeral services were held Sunday, august 7 at
Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Drew Martin officiating.

Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Active pallbearers were Eddie VanHoose, Greg VanHoose, Jim Scott, Dewayne
and Corey McKenzie, Jerry Pelphrey, Rob Roy Pelphrey, Mike Warner, Charles
Crigger, Greg Tackett and Terry Blanton. Honorary pallbearers were William
Blair, Jr., Robert Patton, Walter Johnson, Carroll Burchett, Jim Queen,
Callis Kelly, Harold Watson, Bill Bias and Proctor Brown.
