ELMO BURKE
1923-1989
Mayo State Vocational School instructor Elmo Burke, 65, died Saturday, March
4, in Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Burke was born November 2, 1923 in Johnson County, the son of Harrison
and Emma Arms Burke. He was a member of the First Baptist Church,
Paintsville.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Lewis Burke, one son, Gregory Allen Burke
of Cincinnati, OH; three daughters, Paulette Spradlin of Ivel, and Robinette
Burke and Aundrea Nichole Burke, both of Paintsville; two sisters, Trixie
Adams of East Point, and Elva Bowling of Van Lear; 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, in First Baptist church with
Don Yeager officiating.
Burial was in Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear with Preston Funeral Home
handling arrangements.
