MARVIN BURKE 1916-1959 Marvin Burke, 43, resident of West Van Lear, died Thursday at 1:30 a.m., in the Veterans Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, following an illness of three years. The son of Mrs. Emma Arms Burke and the late Harrison Burke, he was born in this city June 7, 1916, and had resided at West Van Lear for the past sixteen years. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Oliver Shields and Miss Mabel Burke, both of Richwood; Mrs. Everett Bowling, Van Lear; a stepsister, Mrs. Homer Hale, East Point; two brothers, Harold Burke, West Van Lear; Elmo Burke, Maysville. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m., from the West Van Lear Missionary Baptist Church with Howard Reuter and Johnnie Sammons as officiating ministers.
