WALTER SCOTT BURKE
1906-1990
Funeral services were held Monday, September 24, for Walter Scott
Burke, 84.
Mr. Burke was born August 11, 1906 in Johnson County, the son of
Grant and Addie Clifton Burke.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Estella Collins Burke; four
sons, Estill, of Sitka, William and Chester, both of Marrowbone,
and Randall, of Chicago, Illinois; four daughters, Lena Daniel, of
Louisa, Mable Vicker, of Kingsport, Tennes- see, Janice Sur
Overton, of West Alexandria, Ohio, and Tessie Williams, of
Whitehouse; three brothers, Richard and Robert Burke, both of Van
Lear, and Estill Burke, of Wabash, Indiana; and 30 grandchildren
and several great-grandchildren.
Officiating at services in Preston Funeral Home Chapel was J. M.
Scott.
Burial was in Johnson County Memorial at Staffordsville.
