Mrs. Josie Collins, 77, died Friday in Byer Hospital, Ypsilanti,
Mi, following an illness of 12 years. Death was attributed to a
diabetic condition.

Born February 16, 1875 in Johnson County she was the daughter of
Daniel and Rosa Pelphrey. She was a resident of Ypsilanti, Mi for
the past 9 years.

She was married in 1891 to T.J. Collins who survives her. Other
survivors include one son, William Collins, Ypsilanti, Mi., two
daughters, Mrs. L. B. Coleman, Pikeville, Ky and Mrs. Dewey
Cantrell, Melvin Ky., three brothers, Ed Pelphrey, West Van Lear,
Ky., and Elzie and Alex Pelphrey both of Columbus, Ohio, 6
grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held at the home of her brother Ed Pelphrey,
West Van Lear, at 2:00 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Merida Wiley
officiating.

Burial was made in the Cumbo cemetery at West Van Lear under the
direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
