HOBART CONLEY
1907-1988
Retired driller, Hobart Conley, 80, died Tuesday, July 19 in Humana
Hospital, Louisa.
Mr. Conley was born August 10, 1907 in Johnson County, the son of Darice and
Anna Ryland Conley. He was a member of Fishtrap United Baptist church.
Surviving are his wife, Carrie Blanton Conley; three daughters, Phyllis
Pickle, of Winchester, Rebecca Sue Salyer, of Jamestown, and Rouie VanHoose
of Nippa; two brothers, Gus Conley of Oil Springs, and Mitchell Conley of
Greenup; two sisters, Virgie Johnson of Staffordsville; and Mae Thornsbury
of Salyersville; 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 22, in Fishtrap United Baptist
church with Elders Lonza Reed, Rutherford Blair and Frankie Williams
officiating.
Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville, with
Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
