JAMES M. CURTIS
1907-1984
James M. Curtis, 76, died at 8:15a.m. Tuesday, July 17 in St. Ann's
Hospital, Westerville, OH.
Mr. Curtis was born September 28, 1907, at Flat Gap, the son of
Richard M. and Loutisha Williams Curtis.
He was a resident of Sunbury, OH, at the time of his death.
He attended the Olive Green Church of Christ in Christian Union,
Sunbury, OH.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Rouie Lemaster Curtis; one son,
Rexford Curtis, Westerville, OH; two daughters, Priscilla Blair,
Covington, KY, and Carolyn Stambaugh, Sunbury, OH; one sister,
Audrey King, Sunbury; 11 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and
13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two
sisters and one grandson.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 20, in the chapel of Jones-
Preston Funeral Home with Rev. David Rutherford, Elder Lonza Reed
and Elder Tommy Bailey officiating.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Flat Gap.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Rob, Tim, and Darin Stambaugh, Gary
L. Curtis, Greg Beach, Harry Welte, Tim Strawn, Donnie Samples and
Bob McRae.
