JAMES DALE, 73 THEALKA RESIDENT PASSES MONDAY
 
James Dale, 73, a resident of Thealka for a number of years, died at
5:00a.m. Monday morning in a local hospital following an illness of
two months.
 
Born September 24, 1881, in Johnson County, he was the son of the
late Dan and Margaret Ratiff Dale. He was a retired miner and a
deacon of the Freewill Baptist Church.
 
Survivors include his wife, Callie Castle Dale, two sons, Richard
Dale, Charlestown, Ind., Bill Dale, Thealka; seven daughters, Mrs.
Maxine Spencer and Miss Irene Dale both of Thealka, Mrs. Mae Cundiff
and Mrs. Emogene Tate, both of Charlestown, Ind., Mrs. Clara Jarrell,
town, Ind., Mrs. Clarla Larrell, Speedway, W.Va., Mrs. Lizzie
Daniels, Silver Creek, N.Y., Miss Mollie Dale, Jeffersonville, Ind.;
two brothers, John Dale, city, Jesse Dale, Tram, Ky, and one half-
brother, Raymond Dale, Sitka.
 
Funeral services will be held at the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church,
Friday, at 1:30p.m. with Rev. Scott Castle, officiating.
 
The body will remain in the Jones and Preston Funeral Home until
Thursday afternoon when it will be removed to the home at Thealka.
 
Burial will be made in the family cemetery under the direction of the
Jones and Preston Funeral Home.
