Ruby Sue Damron, 55, died Friday, November 13 in Lexington.
 
Mrs. Damron was born March 5, 1932 in Floyd County, the daughter of Grover
Bowling and Rose Walters.
 
Her husband, L. D. Damron preceded her in death in July 1978.
 
Surviving are three sons, Wayne M. and James C. both of Van Lear, L. D. Jr.
of West Van Lear; seven daughters, Connie S. Damron of Sitka, Sherri G.
Saylor of Barnetts Creek, Lana R. Janie of Ashland, Linda J. May of Auxier,
Betty G. DeLong of Thelma, Pamela K. Damron of Inez, and Sharon J. Castle of
Thealka; two sisters, Ethel Wells of Bonanza, and Peggy Belcher of West Van
Lear; two half brothers, Otis Sparks of Pontiac, MI, and Green Sparks of
Hager Hill and 16 grandchildren.
 
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 17, in Van Lear Freewill
Baptist Church with Bennie Blankenship officiating.
 
Burial was in Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear with Jones- Preston Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.
