Alice Hitchcock, Former Resident, Passes Saturday
  
Mrs. Alice Hitchcock, 85, a former resident of this county, died
Saturday, September 18, at the home of her grandson, Van Hitchcock,
in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, following an illness of two weeks.
  
She was married to John D. Hitchcock, who preceded her in death
several years ago.
  
Surviving are two sons, Cecil Hitchcock, Volga, Ky., and Wayne
hitchcock, Smith Grove, Ky.; two daughters, Mrs. Oakley Picklesimer,
Volga, and Mrs. Tom Conley, Salyersville, and one sister, Mrs. Chloe
Stapleton.
  
Funeral services were held Friday at the home of Cecil Hitchcock at
Volga with Scott Castle as officiating minister. Music was by the
Toms Creek Singers.
  
Burial was made in the family cemetery at Volga under the direction
of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home.
