BARBARA HITCHCOCK

Mrs. Barbara Ellender Hitchcock, 86, died at her home in Barnetts
Creek at 9:00 a. m., Sunday, December 10, after an illness of eight
months.
  
Born at Stone Coal, KY., November 30, 1864, she was the daughter of
Lemuel and Mary McKenzie.
  
She had been a resident of Barnetts Creek for the past 17 years and
was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to
John Blair Barnett in 1890 and Daniel Hitchcock in 1923, the latter
preceeding her in death about five years ago.
  
Surviving is one daughter, Tera Barnett, Barnetts Creek.
  
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p. m., Tuesday, December 12, at
the Pentecostal Holiness Curch, Barnetts Creek, with the Revs. Arthur
Ramey, Cline Salyers, Harry Salyers, Lewis Blevins and Ellis Maynard
officiating.
  
Burial followed in the family cemetery under the direction of the
Preston Funeral Home.
