Lee Howard Jr., 86, of Paintsville, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Highlands
Regional Medical Center.
   
Born Jan. 20, 1925, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Lee Sr.
and Mary Alice Montgomery Howard. He was a retired fire chief with
Paintsville Fire Department.
  
He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee “Bobby” Howard.
  
Survivors include his wife, Racine Wells Howard; a son, Don E. Howard of Van
Lear; two daughters, Wanda DeBoard and Kim Howard, both of Paintsville; a
brother, Paul Harrison Howard of Paintsville; four sisters, Esta Williams
and Angie Hickman, both of Paintsville, Noretta Grimm of Pedro, Ohio, and
Mary Hazel Gullett of Lansing, Mich.; six grandchildren; 11 great-
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
  
Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 20, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, with Larry Blair and Wayne Price officiating.
  
Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
