County Man Passes Sunday

Brief Illness Fatal To William Ira Jenkins, Stambaugh Farmer

William Ira Jenkins, 78, well-known farmer of Stambaugh, Ky.,
succumbed Sunday in a local hospital following an illness of two
days.

Born May 2, 1878, he was the son of the late Harvey and Manda Burns
Jenkins. He was a member of the United Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Rosa Cooke Jenkins, two sons, Ballard Jenkins
and Thurman Jenkins, both of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, and six daughters,
Mrs. Arzie Sturgill, Jenkins, Ky., Mrs. Walter Sturgill, Baltimore,
Maryland, Mrs. Harry Mahan, Barnetts Creek, Mrs. Clarence Davis,
Barnetts Creek, Mrs. Bob Gumbo, Baltimore, Maryland, and Mrs. Amanda
Oliver, Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Also surviving are two brothers Clinton Jenkins, Columbus, Ohio, and
Edd Jenkins, Falcon, Ky., and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Caudill,
Falcon, Ky., Mrs. Minta Tackett, Ashland, and Mrs. Lou Cantrell,
Greenup., Ky.

Funeral services were held today at the Barnetts Creek United Baptist
Church with Foster Rigsby, Prater Blair, Florida Lyons and Lonza Reed
as officiating ministers.

Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the
Paintsville Funeral Home.
