 JAMES MONROE LESTER
1877-1960

James Monroe Lester, 85, prominent farmer of Keaton, died in a
local hospital at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, February 6, after an illness
of several weeks.

He was the father of Mrs. Mary Pack of this city.

The son of William and Sally Skaggs Lester, he was born in this
county January 17, 1877, and had been a lifelong resident of the
Keaton community.

He was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church.

Other survivors include two sons, John Lester, Plain City, Ohio;
Crate Lester, Tule Lake, California; one other daughter, Mrs Sally
Williams, Portsmouth, Ohio; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-six
great-grandchilodren; three brothers Ira Lester, Skaggs; William
Lester, Hillsville, Ohio; John Lester, Owingsville; two sisters,
Mrs Mary Horton, Frankfort, Ohio, Mrs Sena Maine, Lock, N.Y>

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday fron the Red
Bush, Enterprise Baptist Church, with Ellis Hamilton, A.C. Bradley
and Hood Wallen as officiating ministers.

Burial was in the Fyffe Cemetery.
