Oma “Edith” Daniels Lyons, 71, died October 30 at her Thealka home. Mrs.
Lyons was born May 5, 1914 in Johnson County, the daughter of Jeff and Vina
Belcher Daniels. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Her husband, Walter Lyons preceded her in death in 1968.

Surviving are two sons, Orville Lyons of Mishawaka, IN and Lester Lyons of
Columbus, OH; a step son, Bob Lyons of Columbus; two daughters, Marlene
Castle of River and Stella Cremeans of Buckeye Lake, OH; three step
daughters, Maxine Wilson and Ruby Craven of Columbus, and Delores Jean
Lemaster of Tutor Key. Also, a brother, Jeff Daniels, Jr., of Thealka; four
sisters, Sybil Daniels of Thealka, Okie Daniels of Louisa, Anna Ruth Daniels
of Nippa and Sarah Browning of Tennessee; five grandchildren, four step
grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one step great-great
grandchild.

Funeral services were held November 2 in Tom’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church
at Nippa with Rev. James Kelly Caudill officiating.

Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville with
Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
