Rollie Meade, 50, Dies Suddenly

Rollie M. Meade, 50, died suddenly at his home at Staffordsville
Sunday morning. Death was attrituted to a heart attack.

Born October 3, 1906 at Mine Fork, Ky., he was the son of the late
Wannie and Mary Alice Wheeler Meade.

He had been employed as a clerk with Meade & Co., since it first went
into business here about fifteen years age.

His genial and likeable manner was known to all.

He appeared in good spirits and was in apparently good health while
at work on Saturday.

Surviving are his wife, Merzie Pelphrey Meade; two sons, James Meade
of this city, and Charles Wendell Meade, San Diego, Calif.; five
daughters, Mrs. Laura Alice Reed, Baltimore, Md., Nola Mac, Mary
Christine, Phyllis Ann, and Virginia Ruth, all at home; two brothers,
Tollie Meade, city, and Albert Meade, Danville, Ky.; three sisters,
Mrs. Winfield Baker, Harrodsburg, Ky., Mrs. Delbert Lemaster,
Piketon, Ohio, and Mrs. Dock Fairchild, of Staffordsville.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home, with Bruce
Daniel and Claude Preston as officiating ministers. Music was
provided by the Toms Creek Quartet.

Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the
Paintsville Funeral Home.
