Paris Jay Pack, 69, retired miner of West Van Lear, died at his home
Saturday at 5:30 p.m. of a heart attack after an illness of six months.

The son of William and Julia Wheeler Pack, he was born in this county
January 14, 1890, and had resided at West Van Lear for the past thirty
years.

He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Dutton Pack, two sons, Willie C.
Pack, Louisville; Estill J. Pack, Dayton, Ohio; three daughters, Stella
Mae Honeycutt, West Van Lear; Della Faye Blair and Gertrude Preston,
both of Dayton, Ohio. Also surviving are three brothers, Albert Pack,
Huntington, W.Va.; Alonza Pack, Dayton, Ohio; Rennie Pack, Matthew; two
sisters, Alice Bauer, Gowie, Iowa; Jane Bolt, Lucasville, Ohio.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 1,
from the Third Street Baptist Church with Scott Castle and W.L. Hooper
as officiating ministers.

Music was by the Toms Creek Quartet.

Burial was in the Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear.
