CHALLIE PELPHREY

Challie Pelphrey, 73, of Staffordsville, died Saturday, December 16
in the Paintsville Hospital.
  
He was retired. He was the son of the late John Paris (Deal) Pelphrey
and Laura Trimble Pelphrey.
  
Immediate survivors include his wife, Mollie Salyer Pelphrey, two
sons, Robert C. Pelphrey of Tutor Key and Jack D. Pelphrey of
Ashland, one step son, Dallas Salyers of Staffordsville, four
daughters, Ruby Blanton of Van Lear, Agnes VanHoose of
Staffordsville, and betty McKenzie and Mabel Hazelett, both of Hager
Hill, two brothers, Jessie Pelphrey of Staffordsville, and Trimble
Pelphrey of Lucasville, OH, three sisters, Martha Salyers of Manila,
Patsy Blevins of Barnetts Creek, and Merzie Meade of Paintsville.
  
Funeral services were conducted by J. T. Bailey and Arnold Reed on
Monday, December 18 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Jones- Preston
Funeral Home.
  
Burial followed in the Pelphrey Family Cemetery at Staffordsville
under direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
