1927-2007

Pelphrey, David “Pierce”, 80, of Beavercreek, passed away on Sunday,
December 16, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born Sept. 29, 1927
in Paintsville, Ky, the son of Frank & Murzie (VanHoose) Pelphrey.

He was formerly employed as a Carpenter for Arnold Enterprises.
During his retirement he continued his woodworking craft and enjoyed
watching his vegetable garden grow.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earl Pelphrey; and
sister, Olga Mohler. Survivors include his wife, Betty Pelphrey;
daughter, Cara Jeanette Pelphrey of Dublin, Ohio; brothers, Dick
(Betty) Pelphrey of Sarasota, Fla, Bill (Jessie Lee) Pelphrey of
Burlington, Ky, & Ben (Carol) Pelphrey of Columbus; twin sisters,
Christine (Jim) Wright of Red Bush, Ky and Maxine Blair of
Staffordsville, Ky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home &
Crematory, Beavercreek Chapel on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007 from 6 to 8
p.m..

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 1
p.m. at Jones- Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville, Ky.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday at the funeral home
from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Burial will follow at Johnson County Cemetery, Paintsville.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of
Dayton.
