 MALCOLM PELPHREY

Malcolm Pelphrey, 59, resident of West Van Lear, died in the
Miner's Memorial Hospital, Williamson, W. Va., at 8:40 p.m.,
Friday, June 26 1964, after an illness of seven months.

He was a son of the late John Pelphrey and Rose Pelphrey of West
Van Lear, and was born October 4 1904, at Barnett's Creek. He
had been a resident of West Van Lear for twenty-eight years
and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cora Spradlin Pelphrey, whom he married
in Paintsville, June 11 1923; one son John Pelphrey Paintsville;
three daughters, Mrs Ocie Carter, New Boston, Ohio, Mrs Viola
Crothers, Jackson Ohio, Mrs Barbara Davis Columbus Ohio; two
brothers, Sherman Pelphrey Koppererston, W.Va., Charles Pelphrey,
Paintsville; four sisters, Mandy Spradlin, West Van Lear, Florence
Espy, Fairborn, Ohio, Dorothy Conley, Prestonsburg, Jenny Conley,
Mechanicsburg, Ohio.

Also surviving are five grandchildren

Funeral services were conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Southside
Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev.Bill Davidson as
officiating minister. 

Burial was in the Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear, Johnson Co Ky.
