MARVIE PENNINGTON
1900-1978
 
Services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, November 2, for Mrs.
Marvie Pennington of Flat Gap, who succumbed October 30 after a brief
illness.
 
Mrs. Pennington, 78, was born in Morgan County, February 22, 1900.The
daughter of John and Margaret Cantrell Young.
  
She was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church.
 
Her husband, Walter Pennington, preceded her in death in December
1959.
 
Survivors include seven sons and five daughters, They are Frank,
Roscoe, James, Dee, Ray, and George Pennington of Flat Gap, Ren
Pennington of Red Bush, Stella Holbrook and Renetia Saylor of Flat
Gap, and Sylvia Patrick and Susie Fyffe of Baltimore, MD. Surviving
brothers and sisters, are Susie Arms of Pennsylvania, Dollie Hamilton
of Ashland, Sissie Cantrell of Ophir, and Melvin Young of Piqua, OH.
Fifty four grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and three great-
great grandchildren also survive.
 
Revs. Homer Evans and John Pelphrey were to officiate at services at
the Point Pleasant Church, with burial to follow in Johnson County
Memorial Cemetery at Salyersville.
 
The Paintsville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
