Cicero Petrey, 69, Dies Friday Of Gunshot Wounds

Cicero Petry, 69, resident of West Van Lear, died at his home Friday
evening of Self-inflicted gunshout wounds.

The son of the late James and Margaret Clark Petrey, he was born March
23, 1890, at Cloverport.

He had made his home at West Van Lear for the past thirty years, and
was employed as a miner prior to his retirement.

He was a member of the Van Lear Mission and gave generously of his time
and energies in helping his fellow man.

He was first married to the former Hattie Stanley, who preceded him in
death December 7, 1955. He was later married to Minnie Fraley who
survives.

Besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Opal Bailey, Oakdale,
Penna.; Mrs. Freda Young and Mrs. Annabelle Pelphrey, both of Xenia,
Ohio. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Dell Clendenin, Chesapeake, W.
Va.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday from the West Van
Lear Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Moses Kitchen and Rev. E. L.
Baldridge as officiating ministers.

Burial was in the Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear.
