Emerald Salyer, 95, of Paintsville, died Saturday, March 21, at her
residence.
  
Born Jan. 11, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Smith and Chloe
Reed Picklesimer. She was a salesclerk at area clothing stores.
  
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Salyer, in 1967.
  
Survivors include three sons, Bill Salyer of Paintsville, Gary Salyer
of Delaware, Ohio, and Jack Salyer of Williamsport; a daughter, Betty
McCarty of Mesquite, Texas; a sister, Maxine Oliver of Oil Springs;
13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-
grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 24, at Paintsville United
Baptist Church.
  
Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Paintsville, under
direction of Paintsville Funeral Home, Paintsville.
