1913-1979
 
Jewell Salyer, 66, died Monday, May 28, in Paintsville Hospital after
an extended illness. She was born in Johnson County March 24, 1913,
daughter of Ora and Belva Boggs McKenzie.
 
Mrs. Salyer was a resident of Flat Gap, a cook for the Johnson County
School system, and a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church.
 
Surviving are her husband, Ralph Salyer; her mother, Belva McKenzie,
two sons, Jack Salyer of Flat Gap, and Bill Salyer of Mt. Sterling;
four brothers, Walter McKenzie of Flat Gap, Ruben McKenzie of
Flemingsburg, Jim McKenzie of Ashland and Tom McKenzie of Chicago,
IL; four sisters, Mrs. Margie Burchett of Stambaugh, Mrs. Berniece
Ferguson of Keaton, Mrs. Audrey Jones of Mt. Sterling, and Mrs. Betty
Banfield of Ashland; 3 grandsons.
 
Funeral services held Wednesday, May 30, in Paintsville Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Ellis Hamilton and Harold Salyer officiating.
 
Burial was in New Government Cemetery, Staffordsville.
