 STANLEY SALYER
1913-1972

Stanley Salyer, 58, maintenance supervisor for Kentucky, West
Virginia Gas Company, died Saturday, April 8, in a Huntington, WV
hospital after an illness of several weeks.

The Paintsville resident was born in December 1913, the son of Hoke
and Esta Williams Salyer.

He was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church.

Immediate survivors include his wife, Jewell Stinson Slayer, a
daughter, Mrs. Charles Ward of Ashland and two grandsons in Ashland.
Three brothers and a sister also survive. They are Clyde Salyer of
Drift, Paul Salyer of Piketon, OH, and Emery Salyer of Middletown, OH
and Mrs. Florence Bussey of Allen. Fellow employees served as
pallbearers at services.

Rites were held at Red Bush Enterprise Baptist Church, with Ellis
Hamilton, Bruce Daniel and Charles Stapleton officiating.

Burial followed in the family cemetery at Flat Gap.

The Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
