VERNA SAMMOMS

Verna Sammons, 75, of Meally, died Monday, October 23, at the
Paintsville Hospital.
  
She was the daughter of I. H. and Meronda Penix Fitzpatrick, and was
born in April 1897, at Meally.
  
She was a member of the United Baptist Church. Her husband, Tom
Sammons, survives.
  
Also surviving are two sons, Ivon Sammons of Akron, OH and Raymond
Sammons of Ann Arbor, MI and two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Bushee of
Lutz, FL and Mrs. Betty Ruth Johnson of Bucyrus, OH. A sister, Mrs.
Verlia Davis, lives at Meally.
  
Services were held Thurs, October 26, at the Buffalo Untied Baptist
Church with Charles Price, Arthur Priest, Nim Sturgill and Glen
Arrowood officiating.
  
Burial followed in the family cemetery at Meally.
  
The Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
