JAMES H. SMITH 1871-1960 James H. Smith, 89, died at 6:00 a.m., September 13, 1960, in a hospital in Logansport, Ind., from the effects of stroke following an illness of six months. The son of Sam and Annie Senters Smith, he was born at East Point February 11, 1871, and had been a resident of Wabash, Indiana, for the past fourteen years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. His wife, Minnie Clifton Smith, preceded him in death in 1946. Survivors include two sons, Paris Smith, Wabash, Ind.; Kay Smith, East Point; one daughter, Mrs. Grace Lewis, Wabash, Ind.; two sisters, Susie Duncan, Ashland; Rhoda Ratliff, Lackey; one brother, Ike Smith, Lancer; twenty-five grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, at the East Point church of Christ with Rev. S. C. Honeycutt as officiating minister.
