EFFIE LEE STAMBAUGH
1904-1973
 
Effie Lee Stambaugh, 69, of Turner Branch near Paintsville, died
Wednesday, November 7 as a result of injuries received in an
automobile accident at the intersection of Route 23 and 460 at Turner
Branch on Tuesday, November 6. a retired school teacher, she was born
June 29, 1904, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Kate Robinson
Castle.
 
She was a member of the Freewill Baptist church.
 
She is survived by her husband, G. C. Stambaugh, two daughters, Mrs.
Alberta Sturgill of Paintsville and Mrs. Avonell VanHoose of Tutor
Key; three sons, Martin L. Stambaugh of Marion, OH, John W. Stambaugh
of Fairborn, OH, and Gar C. Stambaugh of Dayton, OH; a brother,
Arthur Castle of Turner Branch and six grandchildren.
 
Reverends C. C. Hall, Ace Marshall and the Homegate Quartet
officiated at the services held on Saturday, November 10, at the
Mouth of Rush Freewill Baptist Church.
 
Burial was in the Lonnie Castle Cemetery at Turner Branch.
 
Serving as pallbearers were Danny Davis, Donnie Davis, Robert Neal
Stambaugh, R. C. Stambaugh, Johnny Ramey, Harkless O’Bryant, Jessie
Moore and Woodrow Wilson.
 
Arrangements were under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral
Home.
