RICHARD TACKETT
1917-1990
Retired miner, Richard Tackett, 72, died Friday, February 2, in his
Hager Hill home.
Mr. Tackett was born July 25, 1917 in Floyd County, the son of Rile
and Fanny Tackett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Marie Tackett.
Surviving are four sons, Harold, of Hager Hill, Roy, of Riceville,
Jimmy, of Staffordsville, and Edward, of Lima, Ohio; two daughters,
Ruth Spencer, of Hager Hill, and Janice Francis, of Paintsville;
three brothers, Lonnie, of Arizona, Archie, of Portsmouth, Ohio,
and Andrew, of Warsaw, Indiana; and 23 grandchildren and 18 great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 4, in Riceville
Freewill Baptist Church, with David K. Castle officiating.
Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville,
with Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
