Martha Webb East Point Woman Dies in Lexington

Miss Martha Webb, prominent East Point woman, succumbed
in a nursing home in Lexington, Sunday, May 27, a victim
of a stroke. She had been removed to Lexington only a few
days before her death.

She was 80 years old, nine months and two days old at the
time of her death and she was the last remaining member
of the immediate family of the late Jake and Nancy Auxier
Webb, Her entire life had been spent on the old Webb farm
in the Lower Block House Bottom, near East Point where
her parents resided.

A great lover of children, she leaves a host of friends
as well as relatives who are deeply shocked and saddened
to learn of her sudden passing. It can be said that her
well spent life was a fulfillment of all that is noble
and good.

She was predeceased in death by a sister, Mrs. Frank
Howell, and two brothers, Dr. Tobe Webb, of Floyd County
and Buddy Webb.

Surviving are five nieces and nephews, Bernard Howell,
Huntington WV, Lawton Howell, Homeland, VA, Wilber Webb,
Charleston, WV, Virgil Webb, Prestonsburg, and Mrs. Glen
Spradlin of Prestonsburg.

The body was removed to the Carter Callaham Funeral Home
in Prestonsburg and later to East Point where funeral
services were held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the church of
Christ by the Rev. Julian Ford.

Burial was made in the family cemetery in the lower Block
House Bottom under the direction of the Carter-Callaham
Funeral Home.
