1927-1974

Fred Williams, a 47 year old Coal Miner, succumbed to an extended
illness at his Van Lear home on Sunday December 15 1974.

Born in Johnson County on January 10 1927, he was the son of the
late Burnard and Alta Wells Williams.

Surviving are his wife, Colleen Spriggs Williams; two sons,
Jerry and Ricky, both of Van Lear; two grandchildren, four brothers
James Williams of Paintsville, Harold Williams of Garland, Texas;
Beecher Williams and Ethridge Williams of Key West, Florida;
and four sisters, Deloris Brown and Annese Music,
both of Paintsville, Janice Hall of Davala, Ky, 
and Eula Mae McGinnes of Carter County.

Funeral services for Mr. Williams were held at 1:00 p.m. today,
December 18, in the Chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home
with Reverend J.H. Short officiating. 

Burial was in the Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear with
arrangements under the direction of
the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
