FUNERAL SERVICES TODAY
AT WEST VAN LEAR
Gary Wendell Williams, 18, former resident of Van Lear, was killed
in an automobile accident between Bypro and Melvin on left Beaver
Sunday night when the car he was driving ran across the road and
into a hill.
He suffered a broken back and internal injuries and was dead upon
arrival at McDowell Hospital.
The victim had secured his father’s car and was driving with three
companions from his home at Bypro toward Melvin where one of the
youths lived.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Williams of Bypro,
two sisters, Mrs. Colleen Williams, of Van Lear, and Karen
Williams and two brothers, Roger and Larry.
Funeral services were held today at the West Van Lear Church of
Christ with the Rev. S.C. Honeycutt officiating.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Van Lear
