Orpha Mae Childers, 80, of Paintsville, died Monday, Dec. 8, at Paul B. Hall
Regional Medical Center, Paintsville.

Born Oct. 6, 1934, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late George and
Martha Pelphrey Salyer.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Childers; a brother, Vencil
Pedro Salyer; and two sisters, Edna Williams and Emma Rowland.

Survivors include a son, Bryan Douglas Childers of Flat Gap; four daughters, Judy
Montgomery and Paula Fields, both of Paintsville, Cheryl Blair of Hager Hill and
Martha Wells of East Point; four brothers, Clarence Salyer of Ashland, Louie
Salyer of Sunbury, Ohio, Wimpford Salyer of Paintsville and George Paul Salyer of
Volga; two sisters, Ann Barber of Paintsville and Helen Keaton of Middlesboro; 11
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 12, at Phelps and Son Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under direction
of Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.
