James Arville Kestner, 77, of Paintsville, died Friday, March 7, at King’s
Daughters Medical Center, Ashland.

Born June 25, 1936, at Paintsville, he was the son of the late Roger and
Ola Rowland Kesnter. He was a building contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Monnie Lee Kestner; three sons, Paul Ray
Kestner of Sidney, Ohio, Allen Kestner of Prestonsburg and James A.
Kestner, Jr., of Sitka; three daughters, Elizabeth Kestner of Prestonsburg,
Leisa VanHoose of Paintsville and Melina Alderson of Olive Hill; two step-
daughters, Tammy Ward of Paintsville and Amanda Castle of Thealka; four
brothers, Bobby Gene Kestner of Michigan, Larry Thomas Kestner of Falcon,
Paul Francis Kesnter of Tennessee and Roger Lee Kestner of Sitka; six
sisters, Joyce Dennison, Judy Eslsinger and Donna S. Ratliff, all of Boons
Camp, Janette Derby of Paintsville, Mary Mae Kestner and Janie Wiley, both
of Sitka; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five step-
grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, March 10, at Third Street Freewill Baptist
Church, with Larry Blair, and Gary Blair officiating.

Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Paintsville Funeral Home, Paintsville
