MASON BLANTON
1908-1955

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Thelma School
for Mason Blanton, 47, an employee of the C&O Railroad Company, who
died in a local hospital Wednesday following an illness of five
days.

Born March 1, 1908 in Magoffin County, he was the son of the late
Andy Jack and Marybelle Fugate Blanton.

He had been a resident of this city for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Childers Blanton, two sons, David
Allan and Robert Lynn Blanton, both at home; five daughters, Mrs.
Mary Fern Yount and Mrs. Betty Faye Carr, both of Springfield,
Ohio; Mrs. Helen Rebecca Bowen, Columbus, Ohio; Thelma Catherine
and Diana Blanton, both at home.

Other survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Joe Reed, Cisco, Ky.,
Mrs. Warren Rawlings and Mrs. Elzie Sharp, both of Columbus, Ohio,
Mrs. Dewey Holbrook, City, Mrs. Ed Bentley, Garrett, Ky., and one
brother, Granville Blanton, Jackson, O.

Burial was made in the family cemetery at Thelma under the
direction of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home.
