Mrs. Bessie Brooks, 65, died of a heart attack at her home
in Columbus, Ohio, July 9, 1958, at 8:15 a.m.
The daughter of Richard and Lydia McKenzie Lemaster. She
was born in this county June 30, 1893, and had made her
home in Columbus for the past five years.
She was a member of the United Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Orlando Brooks, Jr., Columbus
Ohio, three stepsons, James E. Brooks, Columbus, Ohio:
William T. Brooks, Marion, Ohio; Carmen Brooks West Van
Lear; three daughters; Mrs. Alta Ferguson Columbus, Ohio;
Mrs. Alma Nickles, Fort Clinton, Ohio; Mrs. Alfa Meek,
City; one grandson and 13 step grandchildren; one sister
Mrs. Telle McClure, Thealka.
Funeral Services were conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the
United Baptist Church at Barnetts Creek with I. T. Preston,
F. F. Rigsby and John Perphrey as officiating minister.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Barnetts Creek.
