ALICE CANTRELL 1867-1956 OPHIR WOMAN PASSES FRIDAY
SERVICES JANUARY 1, FOR MRS. ALICE CANTRELL Mrs. Alice Cantrell, 88, a life-long resident of Ophir, KY., died at her home Friday morning December 30, 1955, following an illness of three months. The daughter of Whig and Margaret Curtis Burchett, she was born May 16, 1867. She was married to John R. Cantrell, who preceded her in death in 1941. Surviving are seven sons, Mance Cantrell, Hager Hill, Edd, Jimmie, Wannie, Bill and Estill Cantrell all of Ophir; three daughter, Mrs. Life Bayes, Cuba, Ky, Mrs. George Pennington, Ophir, Ky., and Mrs. Lesta Baker, Dayton, Ohio, and two brothers, Grover Burchett, Ophir and John Burchett, Detroit, MI. Funeral services were held January 1, 1957, at the home with Taylor Williams and Martin Cox as officiating ministers.
