Stella Cantrell Passes Sunday Rites Held Today At Third Street Church
Mrs. Stella Cantrell, 69, a resident of this city for 20 years, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday following an illness of one month.
Born October 20, 1888, she was the daughter of Zed and Margaret Love Cheek. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
She was married to James H. [Potsie] Cantrell, who preceded her in death on February 16, 1947.
Surviving are five sons, Walter Cantrell of Canton, Ohio, Ervin Cantrell of Columbus, O., Earl Cantrell of this city, Clyde Cantrell of Collista, and Russell Cantrell of Baltimore, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Alka Turner of Flatwoods, Ky., Mrs. May Rice of Turner Branch and Mrs. June Barger of Kingston, N.Y., one brother, Jack Cheek of Stanton, Ky., and 16 grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. today from the Third Street Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Claude Preston officiating.
Music was by the Staffordsville Quartet.
Burial was made in the family cemetery at Manila under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
