Dorothy Mayze Holbrook Childers, 83, of Thelma died Tues.,
Jan. 28, 2003 at Highlands Regional Medical Center,
Prestonsburg.
  
Born June 4, 1919 in Johnson County, a daughter of the late
Kennis and Exer Ward Holbrook. She was a retired school
teacher.
  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Childers.
  
Survivors include a son, Charles Childers of Lexington;
three daughters, Dotty B. Meek of Hager Hill, Marsha Rae
Stafford of Meally, and Rebecca Jane Meek of Boonscamp; a
brother, Kennis Holbrook Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; three
sisters, Kathleen Daniels and Gwen Williamson both of
Willimsport and Bonnie Preston of Anderson, Ind.; nine
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
  
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, Friday, Jan. 31, at
Concord United Baptist Church, Thelma, with Charles Price
and Paul Bryan Price officiating.
  
Burial will be in the family cemetery, Thelma, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
