LEONARD CHILDERS

Thelma resident Leonard Childers, 70, died Saturday, September 17 in
Highlands Regional Medical Center.
  
He was born in Johnson County, November 12, 1912, a son of Tom and Nannie
Mollette Childers.
  
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Holbrook Childers; a son, Charles Childers
of Stanton; 3 daughters, Dottie Meek and Rebecca Jane Meek of Boonscamp, and
Marsha Stafford of Meally; 9 grandchildren; 1 brother, Martin Childers of
Thelma; 8 sisters, Ruth Wright and Hester Slone of Paintsville, Emma James,
Agnes Butcher, Faye Rowland and Pricey Baldwin of Thelma, Exer Blessing of
Marion, OH., and Essie Johnson of Prestonsburg.
  
Funeral services held Monday, September 19 in Concord United Baptist Church
with Elders Charles Price, B.C. Ferguson and Tom Sammons officiating.
  
Burial was in family cemetery at Thelma with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in
charge of arrangements.
