THOMAS CHILDERS
1885-1977

Tom Childers, 91, died Thursday, June 2, in the Paintsville Hospital
after an extended illness.

Mr. Childers was born November 23, 1885 in Lawrence County, the son
of Jack and Pricie Boyd Childers.

He was a resident of Thelma and a member of the Primitive Baptist
church. His wife, Nannie Mollett Slone, preceded him in death on
April 6, 1965.

Surviving are two sons, Martin and Leonard, both of Thelma; eight
daughters, Exer Blessing, Hester Hall and Ruth Wright of Paintsville,
Essie Johnson of Prestonsburg, Emma James, Faye Rowland and Agnis
Butcher, all of Thelma and Pricie Brooks of Marion, OH; a brother,
John Childers of Whitehouse; 40 grandchildren, 77 great
grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 5, in the Primitive Baptist
Church at Thelma with Reverends Avery B. Lowe, Paul Keaton and John
W. Kirk officiating.

Burial was in the family cemetery at Thelma with Jones- Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
